 „Helló, Lisszabon, helló, chatbotok!”

Megérkezni Lisszabonba olyan, mintha egy festménybe lépnél be – csak a festményben villamos csilingel, fado szól a távolból, és minden sarkon pastel de nata illata csalogat. De nem vakációzni jöttem, hanem Erasmus-továbbképzésre, ahol gimnáziumi matematika- és angoltanárként belekóstolhattam a jövő oktatásába: az AI chatbotok világába.

A kurzus első napján a programvezető gyorsan letisztázta: nem, a chatbot nem fogja helyettesíteni a tanárt… de simán kávét főzne, ha lenne karja. Végigvettük a chatbotok történetét a ’60-as évektől napjainkig, és megtanultuk, hogyan segíthetnek a tanulók memorizálásában, személyre szabott feladatok adásában, vagy akár abban, hogy a tanár kevesebbet töltsön papírmunkával.

A csoportmunka során kiderült, hogy mindenki titokban szeretne egy olyan chatbotot, ami beadandókat javít, szülői értekezleteket szervez, és udvariasan emlékeztet: „Ne felejtsd el feltölteni a tanmenetet a rendszerbe!”

Délutánra a technológiai agymosást felváltotta a kulturális: felszálltam a híres 28-as villamosra, ami egyszerre városnéző túra és hullámvasút. Az Alfama macskaköves utcái után egy Pastéis de Belém kávézóban zártam a napot, miközben azon gondolkodtam: vajon lehet-e egy chatbotot arra tanítani, hogy pastel de natát hozzon, amikor kérek egyet.

Arriving in Lisbon feels like stepping into a painting – only in this one, trams are clanging, fado music drifts through the streets, and the scent of pastel de nata teases you at every corner. But I wasn’t here for a holiday; I came for an Erasmus teacher training course, where, as a high school math and English teacher, I dove headfirst into the future of education: the world of AI chatbots.

On the very first day, our trainer quickly made it clear: no, chatbots won’t replace teachers… but they would make coffee for us if they had arms. We explored the history of chatbots from the 1960s to the present day, and learned how they can support memorization, deliver personalized tasks, and save teachers from drowning in administrative work.

During group work, it became obvious that everyone secretly dreamed of a chatbot that could grade papers, schedule parent-teacher meetings, and politely remind us: “Don’t forget to upload the lesson plan to the system!”

In the afternoon, the tech talk gave way to culture. I hopped on Lisbon’s famous tram 28 – part sightseeing tour, part rollercoaster – winding through the cobbled streets of Alfama. I ended the day at the Pastéis de Belém café, pondering whether I could train a chatbot to bring me pastel de nata whenever I asked.
