DL- A festői Madeira, 1. nap

 

Egy iszonyú, 24 órás utazás után érkrztrm meg hajnalban Madeirára. de amit másnap láttam az pótolt mindenért.

After a horrible 24-hour journey, I arrived in Madeira at dawn. But what I saw the next day made up for it all.

A kurzusom ma,vasárnap, kezdődött egy ismerkedési vacsorával, de előtte volt időm szétnézni a fövárosban, Funchal-ban.

My course started today, Sunday, with an introductory dinner, but before that I had time to look around the capital, Funchal.

A "festői" jelzőt azért használom, mert teljes mértékben igaz. Minden út széle, minden körforgalom, minden hotel eleje olyan, minha a Szép kertek Magazin trópusi kiadását lapozgatnám. A házak és hotelek újak és szépek, az utak modernek és jó minőségűek, az emberek kedvesek. Ez a hely valóban Meseország. Így ahol csak tudom a "festői" jelzőt fogom használni, megérdemelten.

I use the adjective "picturesque" because it is absolutely true. Every roadside, every roundabout, every hotel front looks like I'm flipping through the tropical edition of Beautiful Gardens Magazine. The houses and hotels are new and beautiful, the roads are modern and of good quality, the people are nice. This place is truly a Fairytale. So I will use the adjective "picturesque" wherever I can, and it is deserved.

A szállásomtól 40 perc sétára van a kikötő, ami mindennek a központja, koncertek, sportok, éttermek, turista információk, hotelek, üzletek, szóval minden itt található. Sétám során betévettem a festői Parque de Santa Catarina-ba, ami olyan szép, hogy inkább csak képet mutatok róla.

My accommodation is a 40 minute walk from the port, which is the center of everything, concerts, sports, restaurants, tourist information, hotels, shops, so everything is here. During my walk I wandered into the picturesque Parque de Santa Catarina, which is so beautiful that I'll just show you a picture of it.

Tovább sétálva beleütköztem egy kis konténer irodába, ahol megszervezik nekem a város két legnevezetesebb kertjének a látogatását, plusz a hegyre felvezető kabinos libegőt is kipróbálhatom.

Az első kert a Botanikus kert volt, mondanom se kell, festői. Tematikusan elrendezett, gyönyörűen tartott növények igényes környezetben. 

Walking further, I came across a small container office where they organized a visit to the two most famous gardens in the city for me, plus I could try the cable car that leads up the mountain.

The first garden was the Botanical Garden, and needless to say, it was picturesque. Thematically arranged, beautifully kept plants in a sophisticated environment.

Azután jött a Cabel Car. Festői.    Then came the Cabel Car. Picturesque.

A Botanikus kert után nem is sejtettem, hogy egyi ámulatból esek a másikba a Monte Palace Tropical Garden- ben. Ez az a hely, amit megnézel az utikönyvekben, meg a neten és legyintesz, hogy így csak fényképen nézhet ki, élőben biztos nem ilyen szép, de. Festői.

After the Botanical Garden, I had no idea that I would fall from one level of wonder to another at the Monte Palace Tropical Garden. This is the kind of place you see in travel books and online and think it only looks like this in photos, it's probably not as beautiful in person, but... Picturesque.

Meglátogattam a Monte tetején lévő templomot is, ahova IV. Károly, utolsó magyar királyunk van eltemetve.

I also visited the church on top of Monte, where Charles IV, our last Hungarian king, is buried.

Lefelé sajnos csak busszal tudtam jönni, mert a Toboggan sor olyan hosszú volt, hogy lehetetlenség lett volna kivárni, de legalább megtapasztaltam, hogy egy busszal milyen sebességgel lehet lejönni a Monte-ről

A közös vacsi 19 órakor kezdődött, remek fogásokat és borokat kóstoltunk a helyi konyhából és megismerkedtem a csoportvezetőnkel, Sérgio-val is.

Unfortunately, I could only go down by bus because the Toboggan line was so long that it would have been impossible to wait, but at least I experienced how fast a bus can get down from Monte

The dinner together started at 7 pm, we tasted great dishes and wines from the local cuisine and I also met the group leader, Sérgio.
